In the middle of the west parapet of Ponte Cestio is located this plaque commemorating the restoration carried out by emperors Valentinianus, Valens and Gratianus and dedicated to the last one on 370 AD.

On the two external sides of the bridge was engraved this two identical inscriptions, synthesis of the very long text of the plaque, almost completely lost during the bridge rebuilding at the end of XIX century.

The inscription is worn and not clearly readable and has been furtherly damaged by cleaning works carried out during 2000 Jubilee.
